In the final days of the war, little Hans escapes certain death: he flees from a Nazi euthanasia center. Years later, Hans encounters the doctor who is responsible for destroying his life...

Early in the morning, Tom Wesnik is driving home from a party with his wife Esther. At the entrance to their home village of Sarezin, they are confronted by an unsettling sight: A police roadblock blocks their way, patrol cars and fire engines line the main road, three coffins are being carried out of a house. Photojournalist Tom immediately senses a story and heads to the scene with his camera.

Young lawyer Mia Stocker takes up her first job at her father's renowned law firm. Her first case seems to be routine: An elderly gentleman dies in a nursing home due to incorrect medication. But this is actually just the beginning of a major scandal.
